Sapugaskanda Vishaka Balika Vidyalaya has emerged as one of the most prestigious Girls’ Schools in the island which has truly been built through the vision of building on the individual success of every student and promoting the acquisition of interdisciplinary knowledge, skills and attitudes to create women of honour. The school has grown steadily, obtaining remarkable educational attainments and excellent improvement over the years since it first opened its doors on the 25th of March 1991. Sapugaskanda Vishaka Balika Vidyalaya is known for the excellent performances, integrity and quality to merit the confidence of the educational community. The year 2016 is a milestone for Sapugaskanda Vishaka Balika Vidyalaya, since it marks its 25th Anniversary.

Principal's Message

It gives great pleasure as the present principal of the school to forward greetings to the school website.

Sapugaskanda Vishaka Balika Vidyalaya has been renowned as one of the most reputed Buddhist schools in Sri Lanka, even though it was all achieved in a short time span of three decades. This achievement was made possible with the immense hard work put by many in by the past, including the principals, teachers, students, parents and well-wishes.

The school has emerged to glorious heights with the dedication and guidance of the founding principal Mrs. D.L.Padmasheeli Liyanage and was later followed by Mrs. Priyanthi Samaraweers. I am sincerely indebted to their efforts and leadership which made the school flourish.

The effort of the teachers who have served the school in the past years and who serving the school cannot be neglected as they have guided the students to produce exceptional results in all the fields concerning education.

I would extend my sincere gratitude to all the benefactors and well-wishers of the school who have been generous in lending their hands developing the school to its present state.
